"I will never forget those two days I spent on the Svartisen Glacier during my travel to Scandinavia in June this year. Fjords and lakes exchange each other, it smells from salted water and fish although you are in the mountains. This is that combination which is so fascinating for me - of course I come from Austria a land in the Alps where we have lots of beautiful landscape and mountain views - but you never can see the mountains and the sea at one glance.
I was very happy to benefit from Ivar Sandlands expertise, experience and thanks to his guarding and guiding I was able to make this excursion a easy to do and very special experience although I entered the Glacier with the necessary respect. There was never even a single moment in which I did not feel welcome, comfortable and protected. I enjoyed every single moment and I am very grateful to Ivar for everything he granted to me during these two days, the experience, the impressions, the knowledge about Norwegian nature, the land and its people and for all I learned also about myself.
Now looking back I know that this was one of the most beautiful events I ever had in my life. Of course the wild beauty of Northern Norway keeps me captive now and I promised myself to find a way to come back no matter when no matter how. Now thanks to my excursion to the Svartisen and its surroundings I have the advantage that I need not go any roundabout ways but straight to the places attracting me so much."
