Rock climbing - learn it, love it, live it!
Our aim is to give you the knowledge and to get you out there doing it. Although not the highest mountains in the world, these cliffs still present a considerable challenge for everyone who wnat to try climbing. The climbing season is generally May to September.

Rock Climbing comes in many guises. The easiest one to get involved with is indoor wall climbing. Most indoor climbing walls offer courses for beginners, which will get you started with very little outlay in terms of equipment. Here, similarly to climbing indoors, the protection (the gear that limits the distance you fall) is already in place. The main difference is that the holds are not brightly coloured and bolted on.
Rock Climbing outdoors in other locations requires you, the climber, to place your own protection - an activity that requires careful training and practice. In addition to protecting yourself, you also have to climb the route and then bring up your belayer. To do this, you will need to buy a reasonable amount of gear and make time to learn the important safety techniques.
